Hydrogen Naturally Makes

Bright Green™ Hydrogen

At a Scale that can Make a Difference Now to our Net-Zero Goals

Emissions cannot be reduced quickly enough to achieve global climate change targets.

We need to work urgently to remove CO₂ from the atmosphere in world scale quantities.

Our Vision

  1. Remove gigatonnes of carbon from the atmosphere

  2. Indigenous ownership, access to durable employment in a growing transitional energy market

  3. Power our facilities, our communities and your future with Bright Green™ Hydrogen made from residual forestry waste fibre

  4. Directly capture CO₂ at scale rapidly using proven technology with large-scale hydrogen manufacturing and carbon sequestration experience

  5. A new CCS industry is unlocked, diversifying the forestry sector and accelerating global carbon reduction

Greener than Green

  • Bright Green™ Hydrogen

Our negative emission Bright Green™ Hydrogen can be used for residential heating and industrial energy by displacing fossil based fuels or used to make ultra clean electricity to power our cars and homes.

  • Carbon-Negative

    The critical step from carbon-neutral
    to carbon-negative.

  • Net-Zero carbon economy

Our large Bright Green™ Hydrogen supply will be essential in the transition to a Net-Zero carbon economy, making the world a better place, thinking seven generations ahead.

Burning and rotting squanders a tree’s CO capture.

For ONE tonne of Bright Green Hydrogen made, TWENTY tonnes of CO₂ are sequestered.

Use Wood Fibre Waste for Good

Hydrogen Naturally is using proven technology, sustainable forest waste fibre, and in-depth knowledge of carbon sequestration to build a reliable long lasting hydrogen supply source.

1. Residual Fibre

H₂N uses the wood waste fibre as feedstock instead of letting it rot or burn in slash piles. Once delivered to H₂N facilities the fibre is broken down into small chips and dried.

2. Gasification

Chips are put through an enclosed process where carbon is directly captured from wood fibre by gasification and downstream separation producing pure CO₂ and carbon-negative hydrogen.

3. Sequestration

CO₂ is then compressed and piped to a dedicated sequestration well for permanent storage underground. Plus, by intervening and sequestering the carbon from rotting wood and slash pile burning, and replanting with climate resilient species, H₂N is supporting the forest to be a carbon sink, not a carbon source.

4. Hydrogen

Our Bright Green™ Hydrogen is ready to produce clean electricity, offset natural gas or for transportation markets.

On a Pathway to One Gigatonne

Three initial plant locations are planned for British Columbia with up to 50 additional potential sites across Canada and the United States.

  • 20 thousand tonnes of Bright Green™ Hydrogen

  • 1 million tonnes of Bright Green™ Hydrogen

  • 50 million tonnes of Bright Green™ Hydrogen

  • 400 thousand tonnes of permanently stored CO₂

  • 20 million tonnes of permanently stored CO₂

  • 1 gigatonne of permanently stored CO₂

Experience

  • Hydrogen Naturally has two founding partners; Peak Renewables and North West Capital.

  • Peak brings decades of experience in the construction, fabrication, installation and operation of large-scale forest fibre product plants and now renewable energy ventures spread across Canada and the U.S.

  • North West has been significantly involved either as a found or owner or operator 2/3’s of the 4 million tonnes per year of CCS capacity currently in Canada. North West played a significant role, often as a founder in the  design, ownership, financing, building  and operations  (with our partner) of the world’s largest operational blue hydrogen facility and the carbon capture and storage system to which it is connected. Including capture, gasification, compression, pipeline and injection. These two systems, a refinery including the blue hydrogen facility and CCS system cost more than $10 billion.

  • The combined experience of our partners will allow Hydrogen Naturally to develop our standardized biomass plants quickly and efficiently with the speed necessary to respond to the urgency of our climate imperatives.
